Located on the East Yorkshire coast, Bridlington is both a holiday resort and fishing port with an excellent reputation. The harbour here is the heart of Bridlington and offers irresistible appeal for all ages. Sunrise or sunset on the coast of Yorkshire offers breathtaking scenery. You can watch as the fishing boats come and go in the harbour, listen as the seagulls scream ashore the catch, smell the freshness of the air, feel the contentment as it washes over you and relax at the end of the day in comfortable surroundings.
Local attractions and activities stretch far beyond the ‘traditional’ British seaside offerings, although the promenade fun, seaside shows, afternoon teas, concerts, theme parks and amusements are all here too. But more than this, Bridlington offers you the opportunity to go fishing on traditional craft, fly kites on the shore, discover the past reverently preserved in the arcade, seaside or priory museums, stroll the gardens, parks and cliff tops, taking in the incredible contrasting scenery. If you can imagine it, you can probably do it here in Yorkshire. |

In the pretty town itself, there is an indoor shopping centre and a pedestrianised area where a street market is held. Bridlington's broad sandy beach offers you a walk almost to Hornsea, taking in Fraisthorpe, Barmston and Skipsea. To the North lay the rugged cliffs of Flamborough Head, with the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs. Nearby Sewerby Hall offers a time to relax away from the lively resorts of the East Coast. Inland the Yorkshire Wolds with its sleepy villages gives way to the medievil city of York. Further North, the brooding North Yorkshire Moors is home to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway, running through the 'Heartbeat' village of Goathland. |
